Local Sports
Wichita has a deep history with professional sports, going back 80 years with Hap Dumont and the National Baseball Congress. Since then, we have become the home to the Wichita Wingnuts professional baseball team, the Wichita Thunder hockey team, and the Wichita Force indoor football team. All three organizations are championship-caliber and offer almost year-round entertainment. We also host numerous golf tournaments and offer play at some of the best courses in the area.
NBC World Series
A tradition-rich tournament that has featured some of baseball’s greatest starts, and the cream of the crop in up and coming baseball talent, Wichita is proud of its legacy as the host city for the National Baseball Congress World Series since 1935. Come out and see for yourself as the tradition continues this year July 22nd to August 6th.

Wichita is proud of its baseball heritage and is home to the 2014 American Association Champions, the Wichita Wingnuts. Come out and root for the Wingnuts as they battle for the pennant! Play Ball!
